Forced Entertainment Workshop at Live Collision Festival

POSTED 28.03.2017

On 21 April our Creative Producer (Participation & Engagement), Hester Chillingworth, is delivering a practical workshop on Live Art, Childhood & Gender, examining how tropes of childhood and play feature in our work, as part of Dublin’s Live Collision Festival, which runs from the 19-23 April.

As part of the workshop, participants will think together about how ‘play’ can be used as a subversive act and how it can be deployed to disrupt expectation and systemic power dynamics, and to open up questions of difference and identity in live performance work. Hester will then lead the group in considering and discovering how this might then relate to the performance of gender, and how bringing some things often related to childhood into performance, can be a method of queering the stage.

There are limited places on the workshop. The cost is €30 and the it runs from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Booking is open from the 25 April. To find out more and book, click here.
