Empty Stages

Over on instagram we are sharing images from artistic director Tim Etchells’ ongoing collaboration with Hugo Glendinning ‘Empty Stages’, a series of photographs showing empty stages in different school halls, theatres, pubs and other spaces around the world, which the two began to collect in 2003, and which now comprises some 300 images.

These pictures were made in other times of course, but in their stillness and in the empty space of absence, memory and possibility that they conjure. there is perhaps a connection to the moment we find ourselves in together.
