FE Recall: No.14 – John Rowley

“I was in the bar of Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff when an Australian came up to me and said, ” Hey, I know you from somewhere don’t I?” And then a few seconds later, ” You’re that bloody grumpy clown from that Forced Entertainment show!” He’d seen the show Bloody Mess in Adelaide, roughly a decade before but somehow he’d recognised me without the greasepaint of the clown. Said it was one of his favourite shows ever…he swore a lot but I’m leaving that to your imagination! I’ve applied that make-up so many times now it feels like it’s traces are living deep down in my pores…like the work itself. It sticks to you!”
